Jodi Whittaker, CPA

President

An alumni of Deloitte, Jodi has over 30 years of experience in financial accounting and taxation.  Jodi is a senior level executive with extensive hands-on experience in management, business leadership and working with boards of directors, banks, and attorneys.  She strives to create systems and processes for businesses that can improve efficiency and profitability.  She has an established record of success in significantly growing enterprise value.  She is strong in budgets, cash forecasts, financial operations, and taxation.  She currently manages the operations of the firm, encouraging collaboration with her staff to assist clients with the expertise necessary to manage the accounting and tax aspects of their businesses.

She is a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor, helping thousands of business owners set up and customize their accounting systems.  Her approach with her clients is described as "comfortable sophistication" meaning she can take complex issues and explain them easily to clients.

She is a tennis player and an avid runner and has run eleven marathons including The Boston Marathon in 2008 and 2009.

Anya Oates, EA
Accounting/Tax Manager

Anya has been with the firm since the summer of 2007.  She provides various accounting and bookkeeping services for clients including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, inventory tracking, cash management, budgeting and financial reporting, and specializes in cash management and forecasting.  Her experience includes wholesale, retail, and real estate.  She also prepares individual tax returns including those for sole proprietors, rental real estates. manufacturing companies, and non-profits.

Anya recently received her Enrolled Agent qualification. Meaning she has earned the privilege of representing any taxpayer before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards.

In her spare time she thoroughly enjoys summer activities such as camping, fishing, swimming, and gardening.  She also loves a good horror flick and volunteers for the Idaho Humane Society.  Her favorite activity is spending time with friends and family, especially when it involves great food!

Amy Howarth
Accounting/Tax Manager

Working from our satellite office in Seattle, Amy joined the firm in 2014. She provides accounting services including financial reporting, cash management and budgeting, new business formation, multi-state payroll, full-service bookkeeping. Additionally, she prepares tax returns for individuals, partnerships, non-profits, and corporations.  Her accounting experience includes startups, non-profits, consulting firms, and wholesale and distribution.

As a small business owner herself, she understands that while sales and growth are often the primary focus (and most exciting) aspect for business owners,  accounting, budgeting, and tax planning play a critical role in achieving and maintaining a successful company.   Prior to joining the firm, Amy was an insurance agent and sales manager for over 12 years and has an extensive background in sales and risk management.

During the school year, she serves as a volunteer for the Issaquah School District where she helps organize various events and school functions.  She enjoys traveling internationally with her husband and daughter and is an avid hiker, spending her spare time exploring the Cascade Mountains.

Diane Larson
Staff Accountant

Diane joined the Whittaker and Associates team in November of 2017. She was able to gain some accounting knowledge in her previous career in medical administration. Diane is able to assist in bookkeeping services such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations. Diane also has experience in registering and filing multi-state business taxes.

When she is out of the office Diane enjoys spending time with her husband, son and her little Pomeranian Chewy. As a family they enjoy camping, hiking, traveling, taking bike rides and eating delicious foods. She also enjoys gardening, yoga and reading a good book when she has a free moment to herself.

Diane is currently working toward her degree in accounting.


Shauna Rasmussen
Accounting/Tax Associate

Shauna joined the Whittaker team in December 2020 after working in our building's neighboring CPA office for nearly three years. She is excited to join the familiar Whittaker team because she has observed over the years how much they value teamwork, growth, and exceptional client service. Shauna has experience in individual income tax preparation and is able to assist in bookkeeping services such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.

In her time outside of the office, Shauna enjoys traveling to new places both locally and internationally. She is a University of Oregon graduate and is an avid hiker, mountain biker, and skier. Shauna can often be found exploring the surrounding Boise foothills with her chocolate lab, Koa.



Brandi Hall
Operations Manager

Brandi joined the firm in January, 2018. Prior to joining our firm, she has over 8 years of administrative experience and management. During tax season, Brandi is our Tax Coordinator. She is responsible for general administrative support to the Tax Team, as well as specific duties which include individual tax preparation, electronic filing of returns, correspondence, and pre and post-tax season preparation for the firm. Off-season, Brandi maintains the operations of the office and staff. She also assists with basic accounting and bookkeeping tasks, and is responsible for marketing our firm. Her data management and project coordination make her an invaluable asset to the firm.

On her spare time, Brandi loves to spend time outdoors and traveling. She has a passion for cooking and art, and of course, loves her labradoodle, Nala.


Heidi Trube
Executive Assistant

Heidi joined Whittaker & Associates in December, 2019. Heidi brings proven marketing and business development skills, along with a genuine enthusiasm to client relations. She spent over five years as the development director for a large non-profit organization increasing revenues each year while at the helm. As director of client relations for a large boutique accounting firm, Heidi helped grow the client base and was responsible for planning national and international events. Heidi brings extensive experience providing administrative support to marketing and business development initiatives, including scheduling, communication, and organizational strategies.

A perfect day for Heidi would be spending time with her husband and kids at a baseball game, or a dinner with friends and a great bottle of Cab from Walla Walla.
